Acts Lesson 4: Philip: A Faithful Witness

Following the death of Stephen the Gospel began to make its way outside of Jerusalem. Persecution only increased the effectiveness of the church’s witness to Christ. The dominant theme of Acts 8 is the preaching of Philip, one of the Seven of Acts 6:5. We do not know much about him. Acts 21:8 calls him an "evangelist," one who was gifted to proclaim the good news. He was a faithful witness, who carried the message outside of Jerusalem to Samaria and to the Ethiopian Eunuch. Today’s lesson will encourage us to be faithful witnesses to Christ wherever God may lead.
