Galatians Sermon 8 | Christian Freedom (Part 1)

In  this  section  Paul  ends  the  doctrinal  portion  of  Galatians  by  allegorizing  the  story  of  Abraham.  Likely  the  Judaizers  made  many  references  to  Abraham  (the  father  of  the  Jews)  and  to  Moses  (the  father  of  the  Jewish  nation  and receiver  of  the  Law).  In  this  allegory  Paul  shows  that  those  who  place  their  faith  in  Christ  are  children  of  freedom,  and  Paul  finishes  setting  the  stage  for  the  ethical  section  of  the  letter  in  chapters  5-6.  He  then  gives  timely exhortations  in  chapters  5-6  for  the  Galatian  believers  to  walk  by  the  Holy  Spirit  and  exercise  the  freedom  that  Christ  gives  every  believer.
